Job Description:
W.W. Gay is seeking a VDC Intern. This is a seasonal, entry-level position open to active students pursuing a college degree in a field applicable to construction, with an interest in Virtual Design and Construction.
The VDC Intern will be responsible for assisting the VDC Department with learning the basics of Revit to support the transition from design model to fabrication drawings
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Isolate systems and create spool drawings based on provided criteria.
- Setup sheets and schedules and provide annotated review binders within Revit 2023 or higher.
- Provide a bill of material for procurement prior to fabrication.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
- Fast learning, focused, and driven individual with an interest in mechanical piping and plumbing systems.
- Ability to accurately and consistently execute processes and provide the same quality work product daily.
- Ability to take directions from departmental managers and/or instructors.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
- 0–1-year experience in Autodesk Revit, prior experience is preferred
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Actively pursuing associate degree or higher-level education in field applicable to construction
Physical Requirements:
- 40 hours/ week in Jacksonville office. No remote work.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
