Procurement and Shop Coordinator
W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Inc, has an opening for a material and order coordinator in our steel fabrication shop. Previous experience working in a steel fabrication shop or similar production shop environment is desired.
Specific Job Requirements:
Specific Job Requirements:
- Place orders with structural steel and material suppliers per bill of material lists
- Receive and unload daily steel and material deliveries.
- Inventory and store daily deliveries and distribute to appropriate shop personnel
- Assemble and palletize fabricated items, material and hardware.
- Create and maintain receiving and shipping logs of all materials received and shipped to and from the shop
- Schedule and arrange delivery for completed fabricated items and material
- Load outgoing deliveries onto shipping trucks
- Assist with shop clean-up and general shop duties as needed
- Assist shop manager with other duties as needed
General Requirements:
- High School Diploma Required
- Able to create basic Microsoft Excel spread sheets and Microsoft Word Documents
- Able to pass a drug test
- A valid driver’s license with no prior offenses prohibiting operating company vehicles/equipment.
- Able to work from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with occasional after hours and weekends as needed.
- Clean and maintain an orderly work area
- Maintain consistent and effective production output levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with managers, co-workers, suppliers and customers
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to operate a forklift
