Position Summary:
Has experience, leadership skills, and proven record of successful fabrication shop management which includes but is not limited to the following: Recruitment and management of shop and office staff, responding to customer request to review and budget the requested scope of work, prepare and/or review project drawings and shop drawings or sketches and build a material list from those drawings, sourcing vendors and preparing RFQ's for required materials, ensure shop is producing quality products that meet customer and specification requirements, maintain shop level of productivity by prioritizing work load to meet deadlines, identify shop inefficiencies and prepare plan to improve, identify current and future equipment needs, troubleshoot and repair shop equipment, develop and implement a shop maintenance plan, budgeting and forecasting shop work, monitoring budget and forecast to maintain shop profitability, oversee billing of shop projects.
Essential Functions:
- Preparing budgets and estimates for projects for internal and external customers.
- Material procurement.
- Submittal process management.
- Project planning and communication with project team.
- Monthly forecasting of projects > $100k.
- Reviewing and approval of drawings and sketches for constructability.
- Overall shop management.

- Participate in online and in-person training and other educational opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Any other job-related activities requested by immediate supervisor.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent required.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in shop management, design, and finance.
- Expertise in managing resources including budgets, schedules, people, and materials in an environment of multiple, competing demands.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, customer relations, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires long hours sitting and using office equipment, including telephones and computers and may also require some light lifting of files and materials and carrying checks, mail, and other documentation to different departments from time to time.
- The position may also involve some repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows.
Working Conditions:
- This position is normally performed in an office or fabrication shop work environment, which does not subject the employee to the elements. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet but can require hearing protection and other normal PPE for the shop area.
- This position may require a flexible schedule and periodic overtime.
