Position Summary:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist supports the design, delivery, and maintenance of learning
experiences across the organization. This role executes core L&D functions — building curriculum,
facilitating training, and administering the Learning Management System (LMS) — working closely with
L&D leadership to carry out departmental priorities. The L&D Specialist partners with subject-matter experts,
managers, and internal teams to create engaging, effective learning solutions that support employee
development and organizational goals.
Essential Functions:

experiences across the organization. This role executes core L&D functions — building curriculum,
facilitating training, and administering the Learning Management System (LMS) — working closely with
L&D leadership to carry out departmental priorities. The L&D Specialist partners with subject-matter experts,
managers, and internal teams to create engaging, effective learning solutions that support employee
development and organizational goals.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop learning content including instructor-led training, eLearning modules, job aids, videos, and assessments.
- Apply adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and accessibility standards.
- Update and refine existing training materials based on feedback, performance data, and business needs.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to translate complex concepts into engaging, learner-friendly formats.
- Facilitate engaging in-person and virtual training sessions for a variety of audiences.
- Deliver recurring programs (e.g., onboarding, role-specific training, soft-skills workshops).
- Create a psychologically safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Gather feedback on facilitation effectiveness and apply it to future sessions.
- Administer day-to-day LMS operations, including uploading and assigning content, configuring learning paths, building assessments, troubleshooting learner issues, and maintaining course catalogs.
- Pull and organize LMS reports to support tracking of completion and compliance status.
- Support delivery of training programs and functional areas (e.g., onboarding, compliance training, customer service training) under the direction of L&D leadership.
- Assist with L&D projects, contributing to planning, scheduling, and execution tasks.
- Help coordinate organization-wide learning initiatives and change-readiness activities.
- Track and report on program participation and effectiveness, flagging trends for leadership review.
- Review training materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency before rollout.
- Ensure content meets quality, style, and accessibility guidelines.
- Flag content gaps or inconsistencies to leadership for resolution.
- Maintain learning calendars, metrics, and dashboards.
- Respond to routine training inquiries and support internal stakeholders.
Additional Job-Related Duties:
- Comply with federal and state law, regulations, and all Company rules.
- Participate in online and in-person training and other educational opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Any other job-related activities requested by immediate supervisor.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, Education, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, training, HR development, or related fields.
- Experience facilitating training for adult learners.
- Experience with LMS platforms and learning technologies.
Physical Requirements:
- This position requires long hours sitting and using office equipment, including telephones and computers and may also require some light lifting of files and materials and carrying checks, mail, and other documentation to different departments from time to time.
- The position may also involve some repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows.
Working Conditions:
- This position is normally performed in an office work environment, which does not subject the employee to the elements. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
- This position may require a flexible schedule and periodic overtime as needed.
